She has been our active roommate since 2016 as she shares written and video reviews about her Sample Room finds on her blog, Instagram, and YouTube account.
Curious on how she perfectly blends her art-related profession to her beauty blog, we asked her a few questions.
ABOUT PRINCESS' BLOG
1. Tell us about you and your blog.
“It’s supposed to be a Graphic Design blog. I wanted to share my experience, techniques, and design skills to everyone who aspires to become a Graphic Designer.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to push it through due to work schedules. Instead, I found myself reviewing beauty products and then came up with a creative idea to combine my design skills and interest in beauty products into a blog. I called it ‘Beauty & Art’."
2. When did you start your blog and what inspired you to create one?
“I started blogging way back 2008 when I was in college. I found myself reading others’ blogs that inspired me to do my own and I actually didn’t expect that I would definitely love it. As far as I remember, I was a Tabulas blogger during that time until I switched to Tumblr then to Blogspot.”
3. Who is/are the blogger/s that you look up to?
“I always look up to Nikki Tiu (AskMeWhats) as she’s one of my favorite top beauty bloggers. Also, I am inspired by her lifestyle and how she takes care of her family. She’s a smart and beautiful woman inside and out.”
4. Top 3 advice you can give to our roommates who are interested to start up a blog.
“If you want to be a blogger either on beauty, travel, fashion, lifestyle, or anything that will suit your interest, don’t hesitate to be one; just do it.
You don’t need a luxury camera or a laptop to start doing your craft. You can do it even in your own smart phone. I used my Samsung Galaxy J5 when I started blogging. All you need is a creative mind, and a unique purpose and content.”
ON HER BEAUTY ROUTINE
1. Share us your skincare routine!
“Since I have a normal to combination skin, most of the skin care products I use are oily and acne-free formulated essentials that can be found in any local drugstore and mall beauty sections.
I do the basic and simple skincare routine, starting with removing my makeup using the Esfolio Green Tea Facial Cleansing Tissue, and then cleanse my face using the Pond’s Clear Solution which is one of my favorite products to control and protect my face from breakouts.
For moisturizer, I use QuickFX Pimple Eraser as it helps my skin to be well-moisturized and pimple-free in just a minute. For my dark spot areas, I use Pond’s Day Cream then, Esfolio Aloe Vera Mist to keep my face hydrated. The last step would be putting a face mask. I always make sure that I put on face masks twice a week.”
2. How about your make-up routine?
“I wanted to make it simple, fresh, and elegant. The products I always prepare are sunscreen, primer, BB cream, powder, eyebrow, lip tint, and blush.”
3. What are the top 5 beauty products (skincare and make-up) that you can’t live without?
“To make sure that I don’t get breakouts, I can’t live without my makeup remover which is the Cleanser Pond’s Clear Solution, Pond’s Day Cream, and QuickFX Pimple Eraser.
For makeup, since my face looks pale, I can’t live without a powder, lip balm or lip tint and of course, an eyebrow pencil to keep me feeling fresh and beautiful.”
ABOUT HER SAMPLE ROOM JOURNEY
1. When did you first find out about Sample Room?
“I found out Sample Room from my favorite beauty bloggers and decided to create my own account. When I made my first sampling, I immediately purchased the VIP membership. It’s really worth trying as their goal “Try before you buy” has helped me to explore various products and share it to my readers.”
2. How did Sample Room help you in your journey into the world of skincare and make-up?
“When I started blogging, I invest and buy products using my own money. With my Sample Room VIP Membership, I can still save up and try products before I buy. This site guided me to widen my knowledge in terms of choosing skincare or makeup products and also, they helped me to grow my beauty blogging journey. Most of the products that I started to review were from Sample Room.”
3. What were your best finds that you discovered through our site?
“Of course, the Belo products! I also love the Cathy Doll Ready 2 White Milky Cream, Dove Advanced Care Ultimate White Deodorant and their Straight & Silky Shampoo and Hair Conditioner.”
4. Do you see yourself still sampling in Sample Room in 3-5 years?
“Sample Room is a part of my beauty blogging journey. I would love and definitely still sampling in the future.”
5. Any advice for your fellow roommates for their sampling journey?
“Sample Room is a perfect starting point for everyone who aspires to become a beauty blogger. I would recommend you to get the VIP membership. It’s really worth it! You can ‘Try Before You Buy’ and you can review products as well!”
