DECEMBER 15 ROOMMATE OF THE MONTH

Roommate of the Month for November 2017

Life is indeed a long quest for the truth, and with our God-given talents and skills, it’ll help us move forward to finally see the realities we are looking for and we have yet to find out. American writer Henry Miller once said that, “writing, like life itself, is a voyage of discovery” wherein he’d want to show that skills like writing can take us to places – learn from other people, meet new faces, build friendships, explore the other side of the world, and bring a great impact to other people as well by being a good influencer.

True it is that these things can be very challenging, but you’re going to thank yourself that you went beyond your comfort zone as these will open better life opportunities and new experiences. And this is what we’ve witnessed with our lovely 32-year-old mom-preneur and blogger who extends her passion in writing through her two blogs (yes, you read that right!) where she shares her life, beauty, and travel discoveries!

Dear roommates, we’re happy to introduce our November ‘Roommate of the Month’ – Joanne Gonzales-Tagros a.k.a. Zoan!

To know more about her interesting journey with Sample Room, we asked her a few questions:

ABOUT ZOAN’S BLOG

1. Tell us about you and your blog. 2. When did you start your blog and what inspired you to create one?

“10 years ago, I was pregnant out of wedlock, so I started to venture into farming and business. When I became a single mother, I learned about blogging and made one. It became my favorite past time and when I meet a lot of new people through blogging, I came to realize that there is a whole new world out there that I need to explore. I started blogging year 2009 and I also learned that there are a lot of online giveaways, freebies, and even contests that I can join without purchasing something or any fee. Today, I have maintained two blogs ZoWanderer (http://www.zowanderer.com) and Stylish Voyager (http://stylishvoyager.com). Most people in the online world know me as Zoan. Since then, I have met some of my blogging friends in real life and made a friendship that I know would last. I am connected to them not only through the online world but also in real life. We sometimes meet up for a cup of coffee, dinner, or even with our families.

I am now happily married together with my 2 kids and I am still happily blogging and sharing some of my precious experiences to my loyal followers, readers, and friends through it.”

3. Who are the bloggers that you look up to?

“I am following Pehpot Pineda or most commonly known as Mommy Pehpot. I love how she is so honest with her reviews and how she shares her Motherhood to the world, giving mothers like me tips and bits of advice in almost everything. She is a wondermom and worthy to be called as a top mommy blogger at that.

I am also following Earth Rullan of Earthlingorgeous because of how she managed her life as a single mother, a traveler, and a beauty blogger all in one. The tips that she shares about her make up routines, honest reviews about different beauty products and even her travels not only inspires me but also gives me ideas that I could also apply to myself.”

4. Top 3 pieces of advice you can give to our roommates who are interested to start up a blog.

“If you really want to do it, go for it and do it now.”

“Do not wait because there is no right or wrong time for something that you want to do.”

“Do not let your passion and dreams die on you.”

ON HER BEAUTY ROUTINE

1. Share with us your skincare routine!

“I sleep early, I drink lots of water and I do not let stress eat me. I eat fresh fruits and take vitamins to keep my body healthy. If you have a healthy body and a sound mind, you definitely have a beautiful skin. After taking the shower, I clean my face with a toner before applying my day moisturizer and I do not forget to clean m face before I sleep and apply night cream, too.”

2. How about your makeup routine?

“I seldom use make up but when I do, I made sure that I do not sleep with it. I just apply eyeliner and lipstick when I have to go somewhere, unless I am going to a party or an event that I need to look presentable and would not look like I came there just to snoop.”

3. What are the top 5 beauty products (skincare and makeup) that you can’t live without?

“I can’t live without toner, day moisturizer, night cream, eyeliner, and lipstick.”

ABOUT HER SAMPLE ROOM JOURNEY

1. When did you first find out about Sample Room?

“Last December 2012, my blogger friend Venus invited me to join Sample Room but it took me 6 months after before ordering samples for myself. Back then, I was hesitant and out of money, blogging doesn’t pay me yet at that time because I was new and nobody wants to buy an ad space from my blog.”

2. How did Sample Room help you in your journey into the world of skincare and makeup?

“I am kikay but not really into makeup because it is so hard for me to just try and try different products that I can see in the supermarket because sometimes they made my face break out. I am glad that I have found Sample Room and I am able to try different beauty products for free, aside from the fact that I could read reviews from different real women who have skin types like me, so I am not scared to order the products that happen to have positive effects on them.”

3. What were your best finds that you discovered through our site?

“Moringa-02 Malunggay Herbal Soap, Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss, and everything from Vitress!”

4. Do you see yourself still sampling in Sample Room in 3-5 years?

“Yes, I can still see myself logging into my Sample Room account, checking out new products that I could try for free and do honest reviews so other women like me could use it, too. Trying before buying is something that only Sample Room have done for me and I would love to continue doing it as long as Sample Room would allow me to.”

5. Any advice for your fellow roommates for their sampling journey?

“Sample Room’s membership is for FREE so do not wait any longer to start your journey. Check out the price first before ordering for a sample and order at least 3 products everytime you check out to max your experience and get the most of the shipping fee you paid for. If there are products that you really want to try and have no points anymore, check the cost and if exceeds the price, then perhaps be a VIP member where you could use the extra points for two months. I have tried it thrice already and I did not regret it especially if there are a lot of lipsticks involved.”
