Tips to ageing gracefully



Aging – it’s inevitable but we should not dread it. Taking care of our skin is a lifelong commitment that we should dedicate our time to if we wish to age gracefully. And when it comes to preventing wrinkles, fine lines, sagging, and other visible signs of aging, relying on anti-aging creams to do all the heavy lifting won’t do the trick. It takes a little bit more effort than that.

That’s why we’ve rounded up these anti-aging tips which you can apply on the daily regardless of your age.

  1. Stay Hydrated.

    Drink up to 8 glasses of water or more. Enough water flushes out toxins and helps keep your skin hydrated.



  2. Get enough sleep.

    A minimum of 6 hours of restful sleep is enough to regenerate and rebuild your skin cells. It also clears your mind and eases stress.



  3. Remove makeup every night.

    Cleanse your skin prior to applying your skin care regimen. Use natural, oil-based makeup remover and a gentle cleanser to wash your face.



  4. Never skip sunscreen.

    Sunny days or not, you need UV protection. UV rays are always present and it could be reflected off of different surfaces – making it as damaging as direct exposure. Look for at least SPF30 and a broad-spectrum variant.



  5. Be active and eat healthy.

    When you exercise, your body flow speeds up and your skin elasticity strengthens. Together with choosing the right food – mainly fruits and vegetable – one can maintain a healthy glowing skin.



  6. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.

    Smoking damages the collagen and elastin in our skin, which expedites skin aging; while drinking alcohol dehydrates our body generally, including the skin – our body’s largest organ.



  7. Use anti-aging products religiously.

    Begin with at least one anti-aging product in your skin care routine. Choose ones that have anti-oxidants and ampule UV protection. The sooner you start using anti-aging products, the less likely you are to develop wrinkles and lines.



  8. Get regular facials.
