Roommate of the Month for February 2021

It has been a tough past year as the pandemic dawned upon us and we have to hit the pause button for some of our life goals. It can be stressful and feel like as if we lost control over our lives. But it is during times like this that we have to turn to new things that we would enjoy and love.

Princess Agpawa, our February Roommate of the Month, is one free spirit who has the thrill for new adventures. Her vlogs are all about travelling, discovering places and experiencing moments. But when the pandemic hit and travel restrictions were enforced, she had no choice but to put that part of her life on hold. In order to cope with the situation, she decided to focus more on herself and shifted her platform as a means to share beauty tips and the products she discovered in Sample Room, in hopes that she’ll be able to reach more people.

ABOUT PRINCESS’ VLOG

1. Tell us about you and your vlog.

“I am adventurous and I love to learn and try out new things. My vlogs are mostly to document my trips and experiences so as for me to have something to look back to when I get older. It's like my public memory bank. And also, for other people to reference to.”

2. When did you start your vlog and what inspired you to create one?

“Early last year, I started vlogging the trips I had in the Philippines like a 'souvenir'. But then COVID-19 Pandemic happened. I got busy with work. And with the travel restrictions, my videos halted. With the solitary feel of being in quarantine, I started to take care of myself just to bring that glow in me again. I posted the products that I was using and gladly, my friends were asking more questions and they got interested too! So this year I am going back to making vlogs using the many products I got FREE from Sample Room hoping to reach more people!”

3. Who are the vloggers that you look up to?

“I love Nikki Tiu and Say Tioco!”

4. Top 3 pieces of advice you can give to our roommates who are interested to start up a vlog.

“Firstly, binge watch on your favorite vloggers. Secondly, learn from their different styles. And lastly, always be yourself! Besides, vlogging should be an account of your personal experiences and views on things.”

ABOUT HER ROUTINE

1. Share with us your skincare routine!

“This is how I care for my skin:

• Day routine (in order) - Myra Fresh Glow Whitening Facial Wash, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, Myra Smooth Glow Whitening Facial Moisturizer and Belo SunExpert Face Cover SPF 40 PA+++ (before, if I plan to go outside)
• Night routine (in order) - Myra Fresh Glow Whitening Facial Wash, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, Olay White Radiance Niacinamide + Vitamin C Super Serum and Celeteque Age Spot Erasing Serum
• Anti-acne routine (in order) - Belo AcnePro Pimple-Fighting Bar, Belo AcnePro Treatment Toner and Belo AcnePro Pimple Gel. (These products are amazingly effective and I love this set!)"

2. How about your makeup routine?

“I'd start on a moisturized face first then tinted sunscreen. I'd add up a light concealer to add dimension to my not so pointy nose. A liquid (easier to maneuver) eyeliner for a little cat eye. Then mascara to volumize my eyelashes and to tame my brows too! Finally, a lipstick that I prefer for the day for my lips and cheeks.”

3. What are the top 5 beauty products (skincare and makeup) that you can't live without?

“Oh, these should always be in my kit:

• Cleanser/Moisturizer
• Sunscreen
• Age-defying cream/serum
• Lip balm
• Liquid eyeliner”

ABOUT HER SAMPLE ROOM JOURNEY

1. When did you first find out about Sample Room?

“I first heard of Sample Room from Ms. Nikki Tiu's posts on Instagram. I was curious about its Try Before You Buy scheme and also, it's free so I signed up late 2015 (Whoa! I didn't realize I've been with you guys that long.) I was enjoying the perks, especially the VIP membership when an opportunity to work abroad came. I tried to subscribe to monthly boxes in that country but Sample Room was different. So whenever I go on vacation, I make sure to be active in Sample Room. I came back to the Philippines last year and I seized the opportunity to try out products again, and will continue to do so as much as possible.”

2. How did Sample Room help you in your journey into the world of skincare and makeup?

“In our world today where there are so many products in the market, Sample Room's Try Before You Buy helped me a lot in choosing which product is good or bad for me by trying them out on myself and reading the reviews/experiences of other roommates. It is a helpful, give-and-take community.“

3. What were your best finds that you discovered through our site?

“The Belo AcnePro set (pimple fighting bar, toner and pimple gel) works effectively against pimples. This is my emergency kit for acne! “

4. Do you see yourself still sampling in Sample Room in 3-5 years?

“Definitely, yes! I really hope Sample Room will go internationally so we can have more roommates who can try and discover products before they buy. Please make it happen. I will be here to support in whatever way possible. :)”

5. Any advice for your fellow roommates for their sampling journey?

“To my fellow roommates, try the products for a week or more so as to justify its effect on you. Your reviews should be in its utmost honesty. Sample Room upholds its credibility regarding its roommates' reviews - you should always keep that in mind.”
