JUNE 4 ROOMMATE OF THE MONTH

Roommate of the Month for June 2021

They say confidence is the best accessory a person could have, but sometimes confidence takes time to build. Growing up, we all had our fair share of insecurities about ourselves and how others see us. These insecurities are not easy to shake off, it takes time to be able to accept that we will always have these insecurities with us but what we can do is look beyond them. Only then can we start to grow and to love ourselves a bit more. With that, we also start to gain the confidence that we need to go and get out of our comfort zones, dream big, and soar high.

Our June Roommate of The Month, Trisha Mae Lacerna, shares with us her wonderful journey from having her own struggles and insecurities, and being able to overcome them day by day. Employing such a beautiful mindset that these struggles are stepping stones and lessons, these allowed her to love herself more and gain the confidence that she needed. We love that through her story, she is able to share and inspire others that we can all grow and learn through our struggles, and let them turn into something beautiful.

ABOUT TRISHA

1. What’s your inspiration for every social media post?

“I’ve always aspired to have a platform wherein I can express myself and influence people. I wanted to positively inspire others to be confident about themselves and be more vocal with their opinions and stories. I also want to increase the reach of local and small businesses by sharing their products/services multiple times not just on my feed but on my stories as well.”

2. What makes your page different from other content creators? What is your goal and objective with your platform/s?

“I always take time to brainstorm suitable content with the brand’s theme. I always plan ahead and map out what I want the collaborations to turn out. I make sure to go the extra mile in editing my photos, creating videos, and taking flatlays. I guess my ultimate goal is to have an engaging and unique profile and make a lasting impression. Plus, I want brands that have collaborated with me to feel satisfied with the results.”

3. How do you make sure that you stick to your original goal as your platforms grow?

“To have an engaging and unique profile, I make sure to treat start-up brands and bigger brands the same. I want to give the same good quality, well-thought content to both of them and not just prioritize the bigger brands because they’re more known. That means I brainstorm, plan ahead, do some research, and really use the products to draw as much information about the products/services as possible.”

4. What did you learn or are continuously learning as you venture deeper into the digital world?

“I’ve learned to recreate myself multiple times. I think I grew more as a person because I learned more about myself like things that I am comfortable with, things I’m passionate about, etc. Perhaps the best thing I’ve learned is that I don’t need to compare myself to other people because unlike the misconception against influencers and how they’re insecure and insensitive, most of the people I’ve been with as I go deeper into the digital world are so supportive, strong, and sensitive to other people’s feelings. A solid support system has been one of the greatest things that I’ve gotten since I started my own social media platform.”

ABOUT HER ROUTINE

1. Share with us your skincare and makeup routine!

“I also went through what I call, “the dark ages” for my skin. I used to have really oily, acne-prone skin. So, I started researching for what could be the best products to use. I started out with one cleanser, a toner, treatment, and sunscreen. Now, I double cleanse with Eskinol Facial Wash and Eskinol Micellar Water. Next, I use Belo Acne Pro Treatment Toner, Pond’s Super Cream, and lastly, Belo Whitening Sunscreen. As for my everyday makeup routine, I usually start out with Belo BB cream or Belo Tinted Sun Screen. Next, EB Advance Eyebrow Powder, Careline Eyeliner Pencil, Maybelline mascara and powder foundation, and Colourette for blush and lip tint.“

2. What are the top 5 beauty products (skincare and makeup) that you can’t live without?

“My top 5 holy grails that I cannot live without would be Belo Whitening Sunscreen, Eskinol Micellar Water, EB Advance eyebrow powder, Colourette Color Tints, and Careline Eyeliner Pencil.”

ABOUT HER SAMPLE ROOM JOURNEY

1. When did you first find out about Sample Room? How did Sample Room help you in your journey into the world of skincare and makeup?

“I discovered Sample Room when I was searching for what would be best suitable for my skin. At first, I was just reading different product reviews and I remember I wanted to try them for myself but I didn’t know if I should buy it already since it was in the middle of a pandemic and I had just lost my job then. I didn’t want to go way over my budget. So, upon reading how Sample Room works, I realized that I could try if these products work well for me without spending that much money. In the past, there were times where I feel hesitant to buy certain products because I would pay a lot just to discover that the product really doesn’t work for me. Sample Room helped me try products without hesitation and that made hunting for the best product so much easier.”

2. What were your best finds that you discovered through our site?

Because of Sample Room, I was able to find things that I literally cannot go a day without. Eskinol Micellar Water instantly became my favorite. I usually go home late from work, all tired, and just want to rest. This product is my soulmate because it cleanses easier and efficiently, it works amazingly, and not bulky at all so I can bring it anywhere. I also switched to Gumtect toothpaste because of Sample Room. It was my ideal toothpaste that I didn’t know I would get if I’ve seen it elsewhere.

3. Do you see yourself still sampling in Sample Room in 3-5 years?

My experience with Sample Room is the best. It’s like finding a best friend that just helps you make the right choices and lets you see all available options in your life that you probably overlooked before. So, I totally see myself sampling with Sample Room in 3-5 years or forever—whichever comes last!

4. Any advice for your fellow roommates for their sampling journey?

Word of advice to my fellow roommates, regularly lookout for new products! Sometimes there are events that you wouldn’t want to miss! Be as detailed and honest as possible in giving reviews, it helps those who are thinking about getting the product. Also, try brands that are not much familiar to you or something you would normally not try because some lesser-known brands put out the most amazing products. That’s all, happy sampling!
